Ocean Deep Group

Oil & Gas

ASI: The leading provider of marine specialty services to Canada’s Oil and Gas industry

Oil and Gas, being one of the world’s largest industrial sectors, benefit from new technologies for safe inspection and maintenance practices.

For decades, Ocean Deep Group has served as Canada’s leading inspection, survey, and repair solution for the oil & gas industry. Ocean Deep Group holds a diverse fleet of specialised vessels, equipment, and technology, enabling the company to customise solutions to clients’ increasing demands. We extend our full breadth of specialties to each sector of the oil & gas industry. Our services include:

  • Pre And Post Dredge Surveys
  • Underwater Infrastructure Inspection
  • Underwater Infrastructure Repair
  • Biofouling (Mussel) Monitoring And Control
  • & More

Pre And Post Dredge Surveys

Our hydrographic team understands the importance of pre and post-dredge surveys to ensure ships have the clearance they need for deliveries. Ocean Deep Group offers precise in-depth dredge surveys supporting shipping operations and regional harbour developments that provide shipping safety.

Hydrographic survey assistance is necessary for dredging operations, offshore structure location positioning, and post-dredge volume calculation surveys. To meet our clients’ needs for comprehensive surveying services, we’ve assembled a highly skilled team of hydrographic survey engineers, technicians, and operators and equipped them with the most innovative and completely integrated hydrographic equipment available.

Underwater Infrastructure Inspection & Repair

We have experience and expertise in inspecting and repairing important underwater infrastructures, including ports and piers including:

  • Underwater tactile inspections
  • Underwater welding
  • Remote underwater inspection
  • Remote support for dive installation accuracy

Biofouling (Mussel) Monitoring And Control

Is bio growth limiting your system’s efficiency?

Any structure buried in underwater ultimately becomes home to various marine creatures, making biofouling growth an inescapable challenge in the oil and gas business.

Given that ageing assets cause 50% of all technical integrity events, it is critical to delay the ageing process through preventative measures. Marine growth, in particular, has a significant impact on the structural integrity, hydrodynamic efficiency, and survival of assets, and these approaches can help offset some of the expenses associated with biofouling.

When submerged, oil and gas infrastructure are colonised, containing over 1700 species and over 4000 organisms that cause biofouling. These creatures comprise a community of hard fouling species (barnacles, molluscs, and zebra mussels, to name a few) and soft fouling organisms (seaweed, algae, biofilm slime, etc.).

The first step toward efficient biofouling management is to understand the origin of and the numerous obstacles faced by biofouling. Ocean Deep's team of technicians provides solutions to ensure water conveyance systems are kept clean and clear, including biofouling (mussel) monitoring and control.
